Hard Mario

So like a thousand years ago (aka 1981, before any of us were born), the video game Donkey Kong marked the first appearance of the popular video game character, Mario.

Princess Peach was originally a redhead?!

Over 20 years later, Mario is now living the 3D life, defying gravity and still saving Princess Peach.

He has become such a staple of our pop culture that each year, tons of peepz dress up like Mario for Halloween.
Well I think it's safe to say the reign of Mario is now over! A new amazing video game has taken its place in the hearts of everyone (aka, me and my friends).
No, I'm not talking about Zelda.... I'm talking about Syobon Action.

Sometimes referred to as "Cat Mario" or "Mario from Hell," Syobon Action is a totally awesome mod of the original Mario Game.

The level design is strikingly similar to Super Mario Bros., but is insanely difficult and tricky! Random pitfalls will continuously drag you to hell!

You must immediately CLICK HERE and play Syobon Action. You will never be the same.

Nice game! It brought back memories. You actually look pretty good with a mustache. I don't think the mustache look works for me.

Some of us, Enrickyricardo, were born prior to the release of Pong, half a decade or so before Mario Brothers. Thank you for reminding me of my advanced age.

HUGS...

Your game has taught me that the world is a cruel place, desiring only to trick me into pain and an surprisingly unlimited number of deaths.

What are you doing playing video games with less than 48 hours until the karaoke night? Prioritize!

I have zero eye-hand coordination. Our house is a video game-free zone. Maybe because we're an all girls house, who knows. And let's not discuss how old I was in 1981. Ack.

Have fun tomorrow night everyone. Sing something from Glee for me Jere.

Oh wait, the whole Puntabulous group should do a Glee number together, get someone in the audience to video it for us. :-)

I spent the majority of 1981 not breathing.

Polt: Don't I remind you of your advanced age everytime (1 word?) I mention Brit? All you old people tend not to like her!

Ryan: Did you get to level 2? I LOVE the beginning of level 2!

Jere: I'm not playing them, I'm encouraging others to play them.... Unless they're coming on Saturday, in which case they need to PRACTICE. Seriously though, I'm still coughing :( And usually when I cough, some green stuff comes out. So maybe I won't be able to sing!!

Tam: Good idea. And since I know a few of the puntabupeepz are better than Finn, we might do a better job!

Ryan: I spent the majority of 1988 taking my body too seriously.

Nice! I'm not good at playing games with the direction buttons on my computer.

Ryan, I couldn't have said it better.

When I was young I played Pong. Sigh.

I love Mario (feat. Donkey Kong Country & Zelda)!!! I remember when you first showed me this game two years ago and I was laughing hysterically yet getting so undeniably frustrated that I couldn't stand it.

oh and...

I spent the majority of 1988 being tired of being brave.

With a little cheating and ~150 deaths, I'm on level three!

I could seriously imagine you in a Mario outfit. For Halloween perhaps?

Wow....I didn't even know there were multiple levels until I read the comments. I just assumed that the game would kill you at the end every time.

It's impressive how Mario games have evolved with the pass of the time and these games still have been some of the most preferred by a lot of videogames players.
