I was going to make this entry closer to my birthday, but I started looking for pictures for it and the idea excited me so much that I made it now!
It is a story regarding how I came into this world...
So one day, my mother and father sat down and decided that having three kids was enough.
My mother went to the doctor to 'get her tubes tied.' Things didn't turn out she planned...
Here's how it went down.
Many months passed and my mother grew larger and larger. As Christmas approached, she hung up the stockings, went Christmas shopping, and decorated the house with lights.
On December 14th 1988, she left the house to finish decorating.
She started putting lights on top of lights when suddenly...
Having already birthed three brats, my mom knew her water broke and she needed to get to the hospital to deliver her angel child.
She grabbed my dad and off they went to the hospital to bring their shining star of hope into the world.
Unfortch for mom, the hospital parking lot had NO PARKING. So she had to park down the street and WALK through a blizzard to the hospital!!
Finally she made it. But because she spent so long roughing it through the wind and snow, the amniotic fluid FROZE. So her beautiful green dress basically looked like this:
After her frozen clothes were defrosted and removed, she went to birth me for real. The process only took 45 minutes! See how I started being nice to my mom at such a young age?!
So around 8pm (I think) I finally blessed my family and the world with my presence.
I might add that I was born the day after my sister TJ's birthday (December 13th), thereby completing the strange birthday coincidence my family has (Aug 6, Aug 7, Dec 13, Dec 14.)
Now isn't that an interesting story?!
What happened the day you were born?

I don't know anything about giving birth, but 8pm sounds like a considerate time to be born. No waking up in the middle of the night. No staying up all night after a long day. I was much less considerate, showing up at 2am. If I had hurried up a bit, I would have had the same birthday as you (minus a few years).
My brother was even less considerate. He was born at 7am, and he was heavier and shorter to make matters worse.
I do like the fact that I was born at 8pm. The only part that troubles me is that I wonder if my mom missed any 8pm television programs because she had to attend to my birth...
Awww, you're so angelic!
Dynasty, China Beach, Night Court, The Wonder Years... I don't think your mom missed much.
Now if you had been born a day later she would have missed the Thursday line up of The Cosby Show (Is There a Hamster in the House? episode - Richard Parker, holla!) , A Different World and Cheers. LA Law and Knot's Landing were on that night, too.
Wow! Was I born on a Wednesday?! Did you check the date for me because I was too lazy?!
You're awesome.
Good thing I wasn't born this year or something, cause Wednesday nights are pretty important now with Project Runway and Pushing Daisies!
All babies should have the courtesy to be born on Tuesdays right now. Their mothers can afford to miss Fringe.
I was born on the day before my sister's birthday. The only excitement that day was that my siblings were very curious to see what kind of baby my parents brought home. They already had 5 boys and 4 girls and my siblings wanted a 5th girl to make it 5 and 5. Unfortunately for them, the apple had a stem and the boys took the majority 6 to 4.
I also realize now that next week, I will officially be twice your age.
Way to make the sexes uneven. I actually evened out the sexes, making it 2 boys, 2 girls.
I love that your parents didn't know what they were getting. I don't want to know the sex of my baby before it's born.
Twice my age? I thought about it and realized you will only be twice my age for a couple months. Then, you'll have to wait until you're 76 to be twice my age again! Interesting...
Cool story. I don't know much about my big day. I do know that there were two of us born that day in our small town hospital, me at 7:50 am (how rude of me to have kept my Mom up all night)and Michael who was born at 8:10 am. Michael and I grew up about 5 miles from each other and attended school together our whole lives and I still see him occassionally when I go "home". So we're almost like twins (but not really).
Seems to me I heard it was cold for early May that year. But that's about it.
Aww. That's a sweet story. Did your family/friends bother you about Michael when you were young, saying you needed to marry him?
Actually no they didn't. Guess we never really had the same group of friends or hung out much. He was the good farmer's son, I was out partying with the jocks. :-)
Aaahhh. So you've always liked the men with abs...
; )
That was an awesome story. Love the pics!
My parents got into a car accident on their way to get to the hospital, but it was just a false alarm. Then when I was actually born, my mom's doctor was out of town so I was delivered by a psychiatrist. Perhaps a sign of things to come?
Wow Craig! That is so cool. But what do you mean a sign of things to come? You weren't delivered by a witty blogger...
Okay, so I just confirmed the story with my mom and got a few more details. I was three weeks late, and my parents were going to the hospital to induce her into labor. That's when they got into an accident because a woman in front of them on the off ramp wanted to commit suicide and parked her car sideways, hoping someone would ram into her. My dad hit her, but he swerved enough so that it wasn't severe. When they got to the hospital later, the doctor's said that if the stress of the accident didn't induce labor, then it wasn't time and sent them home. I was born a few days later.
Wow! That's crazy.
I wonder what happened to the suicidal lady! Find out!
Nicky: I was being to literal. I'll be 40 and you'll be 20. So, I'm more than twice your age until 12/14.
Craig: 3 weeks late, holy crap! They don't let kids go over 2 weeks now days.
Craig: You were three weeks late? Your poor mother.
I was six days early and still a big baby.
asl plz
ur avatar thing is hawt lolz
I was on time, and pretty big. Over 8 lbs I think.
I might have been my mother's largest baby which is ironic since now I can't break 110lbs.
Wow Nicky, you get people looking for anonymous sex on your blog. All Craig gets is insurance salesmen.
However, the 'asl' indicates some gender differentiation problems, some reading comprehension problems, and a lack of internet savvy.
Back on topic: I was 9 lb 8 oz. I'm pretty sure my mom was very happy I was early.
Haha. Yeah... your comment on the asl comment is quite true.... Especially since my a and s are both in this entry alone...
Wow! That's pretty huge! (that's what she said?)
I think the biggest I ever heard of was 12. If your mom ever complains about your size (...) tell her some people are 12 (...)
Did that asl comment get to my head?!
Good story i believe it went something like that.
45 minutes? when i was doing my emt training, a woman with 8 kids came into the ER in labor. They barely got her feet in the stirrups and she said "Oh Jesus" and the baby was there.
