In this week's Monday Music Moment, I will discuss some of my favorite songs that feat. days of the week in the song title!
Monday
"Monday Morning" by Fleetwood Mac"Monday Morning" kicks off Fleetwood Mac's (second) self-titled album. And the song gets right to the point: "Monday morning you sure look fine / Friday I got traveling on my mind." Besides my Monday Music Moment and Josh's Monday Muse, what do people like about Monday?! Oh yeah, nothing. So this song kicks off my list because it is honest and a little bit reflective. Even though it turns into a love song a few lines in, the first few lines always stick out to me and I can almost relate to them. And I say "almost" because I got traveling on my mind on Tuesday, not Friday.

"Sunday Drive" by The Early NovemberI've been a fan of The Early November for years now and have seen the lead singer Ace Enders live prox. 7 times. Since "Sunday Drive" is the first TEN song I ever heard, it holds a special place in my black heart. "Sunday Drive" is slow and sad, so obviously I love it! The song is about a drive (presumably on Sunday) that appears to signal the end of a relationship. As the two ex-lovers are driving about, the speaker says sad things like, "You know it's not so easy when you're all alone" and my favorite line, "What could you be doing that is so much fun / without me by your side?" After I heard this wonderfully depressing song, I found more TEN CDs and got obsessed and started

I'm mad that John beat me to "Blue Monday" by New Order (one of their biggest hits) and Polt beat me to the Cure song >:-[ Those were two of my favorite bands back when I was still a young'un.
Polt did neglect to mention, however, that "Just Another Manic Monday" was written (horrifically enough) by Prince :P
"Tuesday Afternoon" by The Moody Blues is one I like.

Polt - "I Don't Like Mondays" was originally by the Boom Town Rats. It was about Brenda Spencer, a teen who opened fire on an elementary school. My elementary school. What a day that was.
Oh, and I immediately thought of "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers. I'll just go sit in a corner with john and Polt.

Though personally although I'm old enough to remember when the Moody Blues were fresh, I prefer to forget. Just like I prefer to forget almost all music from the 70s.

I stayed home from school that day, but my brother went. It was a sad day.

If we're going to listen to music from the 70s can we at least limit it to the late 70s? -- i.e. mostly Disco & Punk with a few other exceptions including Rumors by Fleetwood Mac. I'm voting for "Got to be Real" by Cheryl Lynn, "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" by the Buzzcocks, "Love Will Tear us Apart" by Joy Division, and pretty much ANYTHING by Devo ;-)

The only one I could think of was Manic Monday, which someone already said.
I like the song but the line "I wish it were a Sunday, cause that's my fun day!" always bugged me.
Who's fun day is Sunday? Why not Saturday?! Sundays are annoying because you have to go back to school/work the next day!
